Bank Windhoek Limited
Bank Windhoek Limited, founded in 1982, offers a wide range of financial products and services and is a leader in the financial services industry. It is the only locally owned bank in Namibia and is currently the flagship brand of Capricorn Investment Holdings (CIH) Limited. Bank Windhoek Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank Windhoek Holdings Ltd, in which CIH holds a 72.9% interest.
Remarkable growth has been achieved as a result of robust management, a solid support structure and advanced technology coupled with a highly qualified staff complement. Bank Windhoek offers a complete spectrum of banking services, including personal, corporate, business, electronic and international banking services to the Namibian public via a network of 50 branches and agencies, plus more than 234 ATMs. Bank Windhoek has embraced its social responsibility with open arms, with the establishment of the Bank Windhoek Social Investment Fund, to alleviate poverty through channelling funds to organisations which focus on job creation, education and health. Bank Windhoek’s corporate social contribution amounted to 6 million in Namibia in 2009.

Refreshed Branding In 2003, Bank Windhoek Ltd repositioned its brand identity, which included the modernisation of the bank’s logo and the presentation of its name. The corporate colours were changed to vibrant red, expressing the Bank’s passion for success, and royal blue, representing stability and strength. The Bank also adopted the slogan: “Together we do Better”, and is fully committed to the development of Namibia and its people.
Performance Bank Windhoek Ltd commands a national market share of approximately 28.3 percent. The bank’s assets, as at 30 June 2009, totalled N$ 12,244 million. Profit after tax for the same period amounts to N$ 208.9 million
